POTTY TRAINING 101
Most Lil Ones start their potty training adventure between the ages of 18 and 24 months. All kiddos are different and this age is just an average. If your child falls before or after this time frame try not to stress about it, they will get there sooner or later. To learn more, click here!
Lil things to look for:
- Tugging at their diaper
- Less frequent diaper changes
- No #2 while sleeping
- Feeling uncomfortable when having an "accident"
- Showing interest in the bathroom
I feel it's best to have a strategy in place before starting your Potty Training (PT) journey. Gather all the necessities before engaging with your Lil One. I would recommend a potty seat, undies they will like, flushable wipes and an incentive (like Potty Time ADVENTures). Now that you have your PT tools, you are ready to start that conversation with your child!
Books are a great place to start. Something simple that they can follow along with easily. You can always hop on YouTube and find some great videos as well. Just type in "potty training videos"!
In my opinion, you shouldn't force this milestone. In the end, your Lil One will start when they are ready. At the age of 2, our first born still showed no interest. We tried to get her excited but nothing worked until we came up with ourPotty Time ADVENTures concept. We created a mock-up and tried it out with her. Needless to say, it worked like a charm!
Potty To-Go! We keep a travel potty in the back of our SUV along with plastic grocery bags for liners. This way you are ready when the moment strikes! I also lined our girls car seats with a potty blanket. The clean up is much easier if there is an accident...which there most likely will be :)
